grade: d (my grade)/b-, c+ (kind of an average of the others)crap breakfast. i remembered too late i should not go to brunch or breakfast or anything, except maybe to al's. i wish i could remember things.
round one- omelet with swiss, cheddar, and mushroom. the mushrooms are canned. points off. the omelet is ok at best, but not seasoned at all. it comes with cold, burnt toast, and cold hash browns, albeit in a nice round shape with a random strawberry on top. i also get a very bitter decaf.
i ask the server for non-cold toast and hashbrowns.
round two- i get hashbrowns in a suspiciously short amount of time. not surprisingly, they're near raw in the middle.
round three- about 5 minutes later i finally get the toast. apparently toast is complicated and takes that long a time. it's not cold, but underdone. it's tolerable. i eat it. they didn't bring any more butter or jelly with it, so there's not quite enough to go around. since the server disappears, i can't get more.
my breakfast ends up being free after i tell the server how it went after the other stuff was dropped off. there is that.
though the server appears to be hung over or something. or it could be my theory on wayzata servers holds true everywhere... you can't get real help. they came to our table with menus like they were going to drop them off mid-way through they meal, and every time something was brought to the table, it was food auction time (benedict? going once, going twice, ok, it's yours!)
not surprisingly, everyone liked the place better than i, but individual grades ranged from the b range to those who had some sort of quiche (though the baked goods varied in quality and tended to be dry, croissants were slightly above minnesota average and the apricot pastry was better) to the c/c- range for those who ordered benedicts. the hollandise was pretty good, i've had worse.
the quiches were a lot of food for what you pay for it, and seem to be the only thing on the menu that we can endorse. those were actually in the a range, but the quiche people also had bitter coffee or the baked goods, and the not great service, averaging the grade downwards.
so now i am going to make it *your* job to remind me, all of you, not to go to breakfast or brunch. seriously. if i suggest it, laugh in my face or something.
