foreign objects in food = automatic bad grade.

long story short, i am the child of mr. bad restaurant karma (read about him in biteme) which manifests itself in me every now and again. and again, long story short, tonight's dinner make in recent memory three pieces of wood in food that weren't supposed to be there vs. two random though large bits of plastic. (bbq shrimp, oddly served on more or less a side salad.)

the sign outside the place that listed some of what they have did end in soup, sandwiches, and more.

maybe the wood bit was the 'more.' you may want to avoid 'more.'

please do not try to explain to me how these things get in my food at a restaurant. i don't care how. i do care that they were not removed, which says something about a place. if they were broken off, forgotten, overlooked, etc., is so not my concern.

also, it's not a good thing when you don't offer anything until it's brought up by the customer, be it a few bucks off, a free dessert, a replacement meal. not good policy.

everyone else's fare was decent and the cream cheese wontons pretty good (the grade would have suffered if it had not been for that, really). though for a place that's supposed to be vietnamese, the menu seemed more like standard minnesota chinese restaurant fare. decor (not quite the word, more like surroundings) also like that.

and for a place where for most of dinner the five of us were the only people in the place, it took a rather long time to get our dinners to us.

maybe i am just having a bad customer service day (another long story short- avoid anything to do with metro mitsubishi).

we were going to go to 3 muses originally, to pay them back, kinda, for their niceness. they are not open, at least for now, they are apparently getting ready for their spring colors, which may have been nice to mention on their voice mail, or not close seemingly randomly to do so (we only found out when someone tried to make reservations for us). which, to toss in a few more stats, means out of the three times another sole person and i attempted this place, we got there once. though they say they are not really closed... who knows.
