(i'll just start off with an apology for the bad puns that'll crop up. just a few of them....)

it's always a bit odd dealing with dinner that's as big as your head or so.

in this case, it was a tasty roti, filled with curry- someone got lamb, i got chicken... but you can also get your goat here... in the curry. (i did say they were bad puns). not really sure how to go about eating it, or since it's wrapped in roti, if you can use your hands or what...

we went with knife and fork. a lot was left over, not surprisingly. i'd probably go with the chickpea and potato one next time, the chicken was kind of odd, texturally, in the dish, and the texture of the potato went well with the curry and the roti (mmmm... carbs...). good comfort food on a rainy night.

since i didn't feel above it, i went with the average (ha. ha.) heat curry. maybe my tolerance has improved for hot food, but it didn't seem overly hot... though i wasn't brave enough to do more than sample the hot sauce delivered with the meal (harry's own brand).

i had the sour sop with it, which i thought would be more sour that it actually was... it's reminiscent of a cloudy, less sour lemonade. someone also got some ting (ting, a lot better than fresca... the only other grapefruit soda anyone can think of... oh,wait, i was informed we forgot squirt, alas)... and it was someting to behold... everyting tastes great with ting. (ok, i'll stop that now, but i could go on for hours like that, i could... it's the kind of ting i like to do... sigh.)

every meal is made for the person, the food's not sitting around, so it does take a while to get to the table, but the service is nice (the chef came out to chat with customers, the server was helpful).

the decor is mixed, with carribean scenes and art and such on the walls, but the faux wood panels on the wall and the tile floor looks like the place used to be some sort of bank or store or something... not quite harmonious.

it's a mellow place to hang on a tuesday night and the food's a good deal for what you get, the roti runs about $8-9 and a lot of people could get two meals out of it they do have some other carribean dishes besides the roti, and a good number of vegan and vegetarian dishes.

it was odd, when we got there, there was this table with two people who said nothing the whole 45 minutes or so they were there before they left (and they didn't use sign language also). i felt very conspicuous talking in front of them, even with the music in the background.
