note: for all of you people not into the food network, tyler hosts food 911 and some other random things.

so on vacation, i go to the florida state fair. which is not that exciting on a monday morning.

wandering aimless around, my companion spots a tv crew at a food booth.

as we walk up, i recognize tyler florence. he is apparently filiming bits of a show. he is discussing a goat cookoff.

since i am camera-equipped, i take a few shots.

the crew break, and he wanders off into a building to... uh... freshen up.

oddly, not many people recognize him, just myself and one other person walking by. everyone else doesn't even seem to see the camera crew.

my companion and i start talking with the person seemingly in charge. we ask him which show it's for, he tells us it's for a new one about food festivals across the nation. the episode we saw being taped will start to air in july 2002, apparently.

seeing my camera in my hand, the person mentions it would ok if we got a picture with tyler, as he's ok with that.

when tyler returns, we ask and get a picture, which is is fine with.

then we thank him and wander off to see the parade at the fair. we sit down, and before it starts, three people in suits come down the parade route.

apparently it's the governor of florida and his aides (it was governor's luncheon day at the fair or something like that).

needless to say, i ignored that potential encounter, and didn't take any pictures.

but hey, two for one on fame there. kinda.
